Shen Yun Review: Seema Rahmani, actress, writer and director
“I really loved that in the midst of so much grace and entertainment, there were some really deep messages about detachment and letting go and true love and growth, that’s what I took away from it. I love it. It talks about rebirth, the cycle of reincarnation and how we are here as souls or beings from heaven for a purpose. We are not here to get distracted or lost in the world of temporary friendship or temporary love, thinking it’s permanent. We are here actually to lighten the level of this consciousness of the planet and do our part before we move onto the next life. So that’s a beautiful message, and you got it out there. This particular production has kind of a dual, triple purpose. It is not just entertainment. It’s... let’s see what is going on in China, maybe help them somehow if you are moved to. Let’s learn from what these people are struggling over there. We have the freedom to believe, so let’s not waste time. It’s amazing. It’s not easy to do that in a public domain but they did quite gracefully and beautifully, sticking it in through dance and song. And that’s really commendable. I really loved that about this piece. ”
